Built to avoid the Summer heat of Ticino

The former cow stable was rebuilt and enlarged by Dr. Carlo Ermanno Pestalozzi in 1966. The cabin allowed Maria and her four sons to spend Summers up into the 1980ies  in the freshness of the mountains, compared to the humid heat of Lugano and surroundings. Since, the house has been home to childrens' camps as well as friends and family gatherings. Maintenance work has been and still is a major reason for gathering in the shade of Monte Tamaro.
